Leisure Centre, Noosa North Shore
The Beach Road Holiday Homes Leisure Centre is part of a staged development that includes 90 detached holiday houses and a manager’s residence. Stage 1 of the project, 24 houses and Leisure Centre, was completed in November 2007.
The development forms an integral part of the Noosa North Shore Eco-Tourism Portal, a strategic opportunity to leverage conservation and management outcomes for the World Heritage listed Great Sandy Region and surrounding wilderness areas.
60% of the 70-hectare site is dedicated to ecological conservation. The 4-hectare portion, representing 6% of the site, occupied by the Leisure Centre complex serves the dual purposes of recreation and wastewater management.
The Leisure Centre provides recreational and social opportunities for guests staying at the holiday homes. The Centre is effectively the ‘back yard’ for the houses. It is a place to swim, play games, exercise on mowed grass, gather around a barbeque, play tennis or shoot some hoops.
The Centre is a place for coming together in active or passive recreation, for celebration and for socialising. It is about having an unforgettable holiday where new friendships are formed and fond memories made.
The building caters for all age groups from juniors through teenagers and adults. It has a flexible layout allowing for many modes of use and various group sizes.
