Noosa North Shore Beach Road Holiday Homes
From 2005 to 2008 John Cameron Architects was principal architect for the Noosa North Shore Beach Road Holiday Homes eco-tourism project in southeast Queensland. Our role was to coordinate other consultant architectural practises designing 90 individual eco-homes within a 30-hectare rehabilitation region of bushland to ensure environmental and buyer expectations were delivered to the developer and ultimately the market. We designed the common leisure facility for the project and contributed three individual eco-house designs.
We were instrumental in introducing Green Globe 21 design and construction methodologies to the Noosa North Shore project as a guiding framework for demonstrating sustainable eco-tourism outcomes to the local authorities and the public. John was invited to present his work on the Noosa project in China to the Ecological Society of Zhejiang Province International Ecotourism Forum and Symposium, 2005.
